Interior Design Awards

Shortlisted for the Northern Design Awards

What an exciting end to 2020 we had! Last year was certainly not without its challenges and starting 2021 we have brought these challenges with us. But in amongst the uncertainty, we have been working hard to deliver and bring you some elevated interior design. Last year our Design team took on new challenges to create some amazing spaces, all around the UK for our clients, and we wanted to showcase their fantastic work.

We’ve busy designing and installing everything from amenity spaces for new student accommodation to property staging for luxury apartments. Continuing to deliver first-class designs for the residential sector.

And it got us noticed! Back in November, we entered the Northern Design Awards. The NDA’s brings together and celebrates designers, retailers and property developers in the North. With a variety of categories on offer we to choose projects completed in 2020. Choosing to enter two projects, one for Residential and one for Commercial Interior Design Project >£100K, we were thrilled when it was announced last month that we were a finalist and shortlisted for our commercial entry!

Our shortlisted entry was for the Marketing Suites for Muse Developments, designed by our Head of Design Lauren Maylor. A brand-new development in Salford and Shortlisted for a Housing Design Award, the dynamic and historical build comprises of 33 two, three and four bedroom luxury townhouses. Working with the client and the main contractors closely on this project we wanted to encapsulate and bring to life the sites historic past for the Marketing Suite.

Associated with artists L.S. Lowry and Pierre Adolphe Valette, who the building was named after, our Design team used the theme of ‘art’ to create a vibrant and lively space. The client was keen on the interiors to reflect the local community as well. Combining this with our ‘art’ theme we had a mural commissioned by a local artist Adam Pekr, who used the clients branding, bringing the whole design.

“2020 proved to be an incredible year for LOFT Design, and we were very fortunate to work on a huge array of diverse and exciting client projects despite the global pandemic. With that in mind, we were incredibly honoured to be shortlisted for ‘ Commercial Interior Design Project >£100K ‘ category, on our first submission for the Northern Design Awards. The Valette Square Project for Muse Developments stood out as one of our most unique projects, whereby we were able to collaborate with local suppliers, and Manchester-based Mural Artist Adam Pekr, to realise our design vision.  Our client was able to put their full trust into LOFT when developing the scheme and gave us creative license to really push the design boundaries. We are incredibly proud to have been shortlisted for our first Northern Design Award, alongside incredibly talented and inspirational designers on such high standard Northern based projects and look forward to what 2021 brings.”
