How we turned an exciting Edinburgh PBSA development into an oasis of student wellbeing through People First Design
Design for PBSA developments has shifted drastically over the past number of years; gone are the days of students settling for sub-par accommodation and broken, tired amenities and utilities.
Student wellbeing is now a cornerstone of thought processes when planning PBSA developments, and we always aim to push further through our wellbeing friendly designs and interiors.
Silk Mill by CA Ventures was no exception as we successfully created inviting spaces that aimed to encourage collaboration, nurture relationships, and provide a calming atmosphere for students.
Our Designers were sympathetic to the building’s architecture by maximising space throughout amenity spaces by not overcrowding the interiors through too much furniture.
Our Designers understand the nuances of each individual development and what it needs, by working in close collaboration with the developer they can conceptualise every detail of the design before completion.
Each room was space planned by our CAD Technicians to ensure space was being maximised within the building, while a colour and design palette was presented by our Design team to show what was possible for the interiors.
CA Ventures wanted a fun, sophisticated & unique feeling to the development while also making sure their branding was a focal point throughout.
We Delivered, Assembled and Installed interiors that created a mature feel through textures and materials while also providing character through pops of colour and playful design.
We also leaned heavily in to biophilic design to use as many real plants as possible to further encourage wellbeing and add natural colour and life to the accommodation spaces.
Our teams worked closely with the client to not only make the vision for the building come to life but further elevate the design and exceed timescale expectations through our efficient delivery and installation.
From our dedicated Project Managers and Design team to our Delivery, Installation and Aftercare teams, the transitions were seamless and efficient to ensure each of the multiple units and varied amenity spaces got the individual attention they deserved.
