Ocasa x LOFT - Ocasa Clubhouse, Amenity Space

LOFT was selected by Ocasa to provide an interior design scheme for this Co-living Clubhouse amenity space in Greater Manchester

A space for socialising

Ocasa clubhouses are the social shared spaces at key Ocasa co-living properties. They can include various areas, such as kitchens, dining, co-working, social and media spaces for residents to enjoy. Each Clubhouse is an original, often designed to celebrate the best of the local area and complement the property itself.

They truly elevate the accommodation to provide a unique co-living experience, promoting socialisation for the residents through an elite extension of their homes.

On this occasion, LOFT was chosen to create a Club House at Park Place in Oldham, Greater Manchester. This property offers residents modern, airy bedrooms and shared facilities such as the kitchen and the Clubhouse.

Interior Design of the Park Place Ocasa Clubhouse

Interior Design Concept

The interior design concept for the Clubhouse at Park Place took homage from the local area. Oldham has a past shaped by the industrial revolution and the cotton industry.

Therefore, the Interior Design scheme juxtaposed the lightness of cotton with more industrial roughness. All realised with soft tones and shapes, and industrial furnishings and joinery to create a unique space.

Clubhouse Layout

The Clubhouse is one large room with two distinct areas for residents to enjoy. Keeping it open plan, without doors separating the living and dining areas, allows for a better flow between the two. It feels like a welcoming space, easy for residents to move between and socialise in. This also keeps the clubhouse more accessible.

The first space includes a modern kitchenette and dining area, which features a large table with plenty of seating. The decision to use upholstered chairs means that they’re comfortable for people to work from too, allowing the space to double up as a co-working area.

The second part to the Clubhouse is the more social, relaxed space, with comfortable seating and a media unit. The interior design included pouffes alongside the large, comfortable sofa, to allow for flexibility in moving them to where they’re needed.

Interior Design Scheme

To complement the airy cotton and dark industrial themes, some pops of colour were implemented, bringing another design element to the interior. Blues were chosen as a relaxing tone and oranges to bring cheer.

Some bespoke pieces of furniture were also created to celebrate the interior design scheme and the room. One of these is the bespoke joinery media unit, which paired an industrial finish with a soft coloured unit, to really bring the concepts of the Clubhouse together. Another is the feature wall which creates a ‘wow moment’.
