Fitted and loose furniture from LOFT
Urban Hub is a student accommodation development comprising 425 modern studios, perfect for students who want both luxury living and privacy.
Truman chose LOFT to furnish these apartments to ensure the students received high-quality interiors - in line with their overall branding.
LOFT was required to produce both freestanding and fitted furniture for the studios' kitchens and bedroom areas
About The Development
Right in the heart of the UCLAN university campus, the location of Urban Hub is highly desirable for students. With a gym, cinema and terrace space, it’s a premium option far beyond standard student accommodation. There are four types of studios from Silver to Rhodium, increasing in size and luxuriousness.
Taking student accommodation to new levels was the inspiration behind LOFT.
Designing For Students
At LOFT, there were three main elements of interior design we wanted to achieve to ensure the students living at the Urban Hub would have an elevated experience.
- Luxury option: these studios had to look sleek to set them apart from standard university halls.
- Suitable for student life: the furniture needed to be practical and durable
- Made the most of the space: as studios, we needed to maximise the space with smart furniture
LOFT’s tips on how to make student accommodation work
Smart Floor Planning
The challenge for this project was designing studios that appeared equal in size but fit into different-sized spaces. For the 425 studio apartments, there were around 50 different floor plans required.
LOFT worked to create floorplans which celebrated each space.
The Project and Aftercare
The installation of the apartments took approximately 4 months to complete.
Following the success of this project, Truman chose LOFT to work with on another student accommodation project in Preston – Unicorn Hall.
We furnished the 133 studio apartments at Unicorn Hall, a conversion of a Grade II public house with a new build extension.
