Unity & Armouries is a Build to Rent development located just to the south of Birmingham City Centre. Located in the heart of Digbeth, this development is in a prime location, within walking distance of shops, restaurants, concert venues and Birmingham’s mainline station.
The Development itself is split between two buildings, the historical Unity House which has been transformed to create beautiful apartments and the new-build Armouries building, making U&A a truly unique development. This development marks the latest in LOFT’s long and successful partnership with Dandara.

How LOFT furnished this BTR Development
LOFT was tasked with furnishing 134 of the 162 apartments at Unity & Armouries.
This was an unusual furniture installation for LOFT, as Dandara needed installation pre-practical completion. Therefore, LOFT worked strictly to the contractor’s finishing schedule and in sequence with other trades on-site.
Despite working to an external timetable, because LOFT has in-house project management, delivery and installation teams, we were able to be flexible and work seamlessly together.
In total, it only took 10 weeks to furnish all 134 apartments.

At Unity & Armouries, there are one, two and three-bedroom apartments. The two-bedroom flats have bedrooms of similar sizes and two bathrooms, a seemingly small decision, but one that makes apartment sharing much smoother and therefore more enjoyable for residents.
Interior Design Scheme
Dandara offers unfurnished or LOFT-furnished apartments, and even then, residents have a further choice of a light or dark interior design scheme. Alongside the option for painted walls, this gives residents the feeling of being truly at home in a space they’ve customised for themselves.
Living rooms are bright and airy, with large windows to create a feeling of spaciousness. The bedrooms have high quality storage beds and luxury mattresses to ensure better sleep.
