Native Communities x LOFT- Signal Box Yard, Build to Rent
Signal Box Yard is a premium BTR development located in Bath. This elegant property comprises luxe apartments (from studios to three-beds) and a number of well-appointed communal areas for residents to enjoy.
LOFT furnished 281 apartments and two show homes for Native Communities.
The Development
Signal Box Yard is in one of the most desirable neighbourhoods in Bath. It’s only a short walk from the city centre, universities and public transport links. Plus, there are plenty of coffee shops, bars and restaurants on the development’s doorstep, as well as the River Avon.
The development itself has some fabulous amenities to encourage a real sense of community among residents. This includes high quality communal areas such as lounges and courtyards, as well as bookable spaces which elevate the living experience, such as exclusive dining rooms and screening rooms. Plus, a brand new state-of-the-art gym.
It is Native Communities’ first practical completion of a BTR development in the city. They’ve designed Signal Box Yard to have sustainability in mind, with PV roof panels, air source heat pumps and 24 electric vehicle charging points, among other green credentials.

Signal Box Yard Interior Design
LOFT was chosen to design and furnish all the apartments and two show apartments with stylish and modern interiors. This included:
• 42 x Studios
• 128 x 1-bed apartments
• 103 x 2-bed apartments
• 9 x 3-bed apartments
The apartments at Signal Box Yard are naturally spacious and airy, thanks to large windows which let in lots of natural light, and some apartments featuring balconies.
The LOFT Interior Designers prioritised making the apartments modern and stylish while remaining comfortable and practical. As well as this, we used furniture and accessories which are as sustainable as possible.
The colour scheme we chose featured neutrals of greys, oaks and blacks, with pops of on-trend colours such as rusts and greens, to add interest and evoke a natural, earthy feel.

Show Apartment Design
It was essential that the Show Apartments felt both welcoming and universally appealing. Our goal was to showcase just how spacious and comfortable the apartments are, while ensuring the style resonated with a broad audience.
LOFT Interior Designers achieved this by carefully selecting accessories with wide appeal, avoiding anything that leaned too heavily toward a specific demographic.
Each apartment was hand-styled to strike the perfect balance - elegant and thoughtfully put together, yet still natural and inviting, so potential residents could easily imagine themselves at home.
Pet Friendly
Key to this was using pet accessories. The apartments at Signal Box Yard are pet friendly, so the furniture and accessories had to be extra durable and suitable for them. This is an increasing trend we’re seeing at LOFT for developments of all sizes.

Furnishing Logistics
To furnish the 281 apartments, it took LOFT twelve weeks in total. Everything was delivered in accordance with leasing schedule & client preferred phasing.
To minimise daily travel in LOFT vehicles, we had twelve Weekly Deliveries to site with bulk of furniture required for each week.
An Interior Designer also went to the development to style the show apartments.
