Furnishing a Build to Rent in Scotland
LOFT were recently entrusted by Dandara Living Management to furnish 297 apartments at their newest Build To Rent property in Glasgow, Granary Quay.
Situated within Glasgow Harbour on the north bank of the River Clyde, Granary Quay is a welcomed addition to the river-front extension of Glasgow’s glamorous West End.
Working alongside Dandara’s Development and Procurement Team, LOFT put forward a mid-century inspired interior design and product concept.
Mid Century Interior Design
The LOFT Design Team summarised the key advantages of using Mid-Century Design for Build To Rent Projects below.

Furnishing BTR apartments
At Granary Quay, Glasgow, our interior design service was coupled with LOFT’s market leading “5PL Residential Project Solution” - procurement, import, warehousing, project management delivery & installation service.
Whilst furnishing the 297 apartments at Granary Quay, LOFT overcame numerous logistical challenges.
Due to our 15 year strong working relationship with Dandara, we remained agile and flexible throughout the project, putting the requirements of our customer first every step of the way.
Installation Process Timeline
- LOFT commenced furnishing 30 apartments per week in January 2024, progressing through February.
- A 7-week off-site period for LOFT took place during March and April.
- LOFT returned at the end of April to continue installing the remaining 147 apartments.
- In May, additional delays led LOFT to stand down for the contractor to complete work on the final floor, with a final visit at the start of June.
Throughout, LOFT maintained consistency with the installation team and stocked warehouses to navigate unforeseen on-site setbacks.
